Searching for a contemporary space to hold the tale of Sweeney Todd

Crushing oppression and all-consuming capitalism in the workplace
Under the surface, there is bubbling anger

This image of an industrial furnace and its resemblance to fluorescent lights was a significant visual throughout the design process

different possible spaces, with a significant change through hot, blaring reg light, as the tension rises, and revenge takes control

An endless, nauseating warehouse filled to the brim with parcels and workers shuffling products around the clock, under the watchful eye of a vicious boss.

You are welcome to have a look at the Miro board, which contains more research and reference images we used as part of the creative process of making the show

Working in the model with levels in mind. Refining the structures to the needs of the play, while using existing decks and other pieces from previous shows, to reduce costs and allow a large set for an epic show under a tight budget

Technical drawings drafted in AutoCAD were accompanied by a model box

And 3D rendering of the stage, using VectorWorks

Worked closely with the scenic and construction teams, to achieve the final design
